Reading for Pleasure
Yesterday, Judith from Hampshire Library service came to chat to our year 3 parents about the importance of reading for pleasure. She read to the parents and talked about why reading is so important and how parents can help to improve children’s spelling, vocabulary and imagination by reading with them and to them each and every day. She brought some brand new picture books with her for the parents to share with their children.
The children then arrived in their PJs armed with their teddies and read the books with their parents whilst enjoying a marshmallow filled hot chocolate.
It was such a lovely afternoon.
