E Safety
Welcome to our E Safety page. We are committed to ensuring that our students, staff, and wider community are safe, responsible, and informed when navigating the digital world. This page provides essential information about our approach to E Safety, resources, and tips for staying secure online.
Our Commitment to E Safety
At Calmore Junior School, we believe in:
-
Education: Empowering students with the knowledge to use the internet and digital tools safely and responsibly.
-
Protection: Implementing robust security measures to safeguard personal data and maintain a secure online environment.
-
Awareness: Keeping staff, students, and parents informed about the latest online threats and best practices for E Safety.
We foster an inclusive culture where students feel confident reporting any E Safety concerns.
Key E Safety Policies
To create a safe digital environment, we adhere to the following guidelines:
Acceptable Use Policy (AUP)
All students and staff must sign our AUP, which outlines appropriate use of the school’s devices, networks, and online resources.
Data Protection
We comply with data protection laws and GDPR, ensuring that personal data is collected, processed, and stored securely.
Google Internet Legends
At Calmore Junior School, we invite Google into school to speak to children in a Google Internet Legends assembly. We are proud to incorporate the Google Internet Legends program into our E Safety curriculum. This interactive and engaging initiative teaches children the key skills they need to navigate the online world safely and confidently. Through its core pillars—Think Before You Share, Protect Your Stuff, Check It's For Real, Respect Each Other, and When in Doubt, Discuss—the program empowers students to become responsible digital citizens.
The Internet Legends program blends fun with education, using activities, games, and discussions to ensure these vital lessons resonate with young learners. We encourage students to take what they learn beyond the classroom, applying these principles in all their digital interactions.
