So incredibly proud of each and every pupil that took part in the Y5/6 Sportshall Athletics at Testwood this afternoon. The excitement for today’s event has been building in school for a few weeks now and knowing that it was a first competitive outing for several made it a very special few hours. With two teams came the need for a minibus and that seemed to add extra excitement, not to mention the new training tops that the pupils wore around school with pride. Once there, the realisation of what they’d be doing became very real and many questions suddenly needed answers…but without any hesitation or reluctance, they threw themselves into each race, each throw and each jump with true Calmore commitment. Many ran with smiles whilst others grimaced as they gave all they could for themselves but also for their team. The relays rounded off a hugely enjoyable competition and they wrung out every last drop of energy they had. Memories made this afternoon that will bring confidence and self-belief. It didn’t bring medals, but brought so much more than that. Very proud of you all 👊🏻
