Boy’s Football

Monday saw a group of highly enthusiastic and ultimately talented Year 5 Calmore footballers take part in the Southampton schools under 10s six-a-side tournament at Wide Lane. The competition included 20 schools from the area and involved the boys taking part in 6 matches – no substitutes meant every player played every minute of every match. The boys competed supremely well throughout the matches: Michael making brace saves while Jeho and Alex marshalled the defence expertly, growing in confidence with each game. That enabled the tricky trio of Jayden, Jayden and George to terrorise the opposition defences. The team played so well and were victorious in four of the six. Unfortunately the team missed out on a semifinal place by just one point but had done so well considering it being their first matches together. Congratulations to each and every one of the boys. They did Calmore proud
