What a fantastic afternoon in the Springtime sunshine for our Year 6 handball players. Having focused on this fast and exciting sport back in Autumn PE, and continued to play at lunchtimes with Mr Eaton, we went into today's tournament full of confidence and with some expectation that we'd do well. The teams did not disappoint... Both began superbly, winning their opening games and learning from each other as they were able to watch the other team in their opening match. A couple of setbacks didn't stop them from continuing to compete and work hard for each other - pass and move and playing quickly to travel from defence to attack as fast as possible. Both teams should be so proud of their play - the A team qualifying in Pool B and finishing with a draw while the B team managed to win their group and in doing so, bring home a gold medal. Handball is such a great sport and easy game to pick up. We'll continue to play it at lunchtimes back at school and look to play our own school tournament later in the year.
